Adding excitement to a Friday, several Paramotor pilots from the island met in the afternoon at “El Único” Beach in Dorado. It all started with an idea during the week, to visit this beach, and little by little pilots joined the adventure…

All the pilots arrived ready to fly, except for David, for work reasons. But you already know that David always brings us snacks while take some photos and share with us, also arrive the student/pilot Harry Davila, just to share with us…
We meet there by 2:30 PM, and we began the flights at 3 PM, with the takeoff of Enrique González. Behind him came Pedro, Edgardo, Jonathan, Luis, Sammy and Alex.
The forecast…
Winds were coming in at 15 mph+ from the North, and this would imply “Gentle” flying conditions, but this was far from reality. There was a lot of turbulence, more than expected, and although the pilots flew as they pleased, it was always moving and somewhat unexpected lifts on the air.
The landings…
But the real challenge for the pilots remained to be seen…, it turns out that with north winds coming directly from the sea, landing against the wind was very unlikely, since the bushes on the “Unique” Beach generated a lot of “lift” making very difficult to loose altitude and therefore we reached the ocean on the glide…
So, the option was to enter from the side, but… there were a lot of bamboos and debris in the place. Landing faster and on debris would result in a fall, and there could be equipment breakage if things didn’t go as planned. Also, it didn’t help that the wind gusts changed direction all the time…
Having said all this… I must indicate that all the pilots present made very good landings. And here we include some videos of the day’s adventures…
