Wednesday, December 17, 2025 – International Master Pilot Ryan Glowka in the Island !!!

It was a typical Isabela morning—one of those magical Christmas-season days on the island. The sun rose early over Villa Pesquera, where Luis Ruiz was already hard at work, preparing for a series of tandem introduction flights into the world of paramotoring. As always, time was critical. The winds tend to pick up quickly around here, and if you don’t move fast, nature makes the decision for you.

Tandem Flights at Sunrise

That morning, Luis spent the early hours guiding several tandem flights. Visiting us this time were Lyneiska and Omarie from the town of Aguadilla, along with Josaranie from Vega Alta. The conditions demanded urgency: winds were already blowing at around 20 mph, with forecasts suggesting they could intensify later in the afternoon. To make things even more exciting, the ocean swell was looking a bit threatening.

Still, the flights went on as planned—and what an experience it was. The girls soared above the coast, taking in the views and the adrenaline that only flying can offer. Their smiles said it all. A video captures their experience far better than words ever could.

A Surprise Visit to the Island

But this wasn’t just any ordinary flying day.

We were surprised by the unexpected arrival of Ryan Glowka, a 26-year-old paramotor pilot from Texas, USA, who has quickly become one of the world’s top competitors in the Slalom category. Ryan had just come off an incredible achievement—placing third in the world at the most recent Paramotor World Championship in Bornos, Spain.

The first interaction between Ryan and Luis was almost comical. When Ryan arrived at the flight area, Luis initially assumed he was there to take an introductory tandem flight. Ryan calmly explained that he was actually a pilot. Since they had never met in person, Luis didn’t recognize him at first—but after a few moments of conversation, it clicked. They already knew each other from social media.

Ryan wasn’t there for a ride—he came to fly and share the skies with the local pilots. And we’re hoping this won’t be his last visit, especially since his mother now lives on the island.

Ryan Takes Flight at Villa Pesquera

We often hear people call themselves “pilots,” though not all live up to the title. Ryan, without question, did.

He wasted no time testing his skills at our favorite flying spot, Villa Pesquera. What followed was Ryan’s very first flight on the island—an unforgettable moment that quickly went viral on social media.

We’ll let the video speak for itself.

Enjoy… and no further comments needed. 🌬️🪂
