On Christmas Eve, most of us take a break from our family sharing activities.
But what about your extended family?
This is what happened to the pilot Edgardo Rivera, when he found out that his friend and wing partner, Darwin Hernández, was on the island. This group was joined by Abner Ramos, who despite being a Novice pilot, has achieved great feats in his young career in the sport.
Everyone decided to meet early in Villa Pesquera Isabela to carry out the Christmas Eve Flight. So much so, that at least for Edgardo and Darwin, these flights lasted until sunset.
Why Extreme?
The wind conditions started out strong, but flyable in the morning. But the intensity of the winds increased in the afternoon to over 20 mph and from there at sunset up to 25 mph+ .
And that…didn’t stop the pilots. In fact, this Video is a good test of the skills of the pilots. We do not recommend in any way to pilots with little experience, and even with experience, to expose themselves to this intensity of winds. But the pilots decide to go for it, and everything goes well…
Edgardo prepared a video of the day that best explains the intensity of the winds and the Adventures of the Day. In fact, the speeds registered in their flights represent a Speed Record. Edgardo clocks 72 mph flying downwind at 157 ft of altitude. And Abner, clock 85 mph!!! flying at 755 ft of altitude. No one in our Records were faster.
