We officially kicked off the month of September, which normally means we’re heading into the peak of hurricane season…
Well, not in 2026! There wasn’t a storm or hurricane anywhere in sight, and that means one thing: great flying conditions!!!
During the first week of the month, we had several flying activities. As long as God continues to give us health, we’ll do our best to document every one of them.
And here we go…
Tuesday, September 01, 2026…
Luis Ruiz headed to Isabela in the morning. Pilot Abel Bonilla was supposed to join him for the flights, but due to some personal matters, Abel had to head back home.
That gave Luis the opportunity to enjoy a little “spiritual” flight along the entire coastline. And the best part? He had the whole beach practically to himself!

Wednesday, September 02, 2026…
The excellent flying weather continued!
This time, Luis Ruiz returned to Isabela and was joined by Mario Muñiz and his wife Ivonne, Abel Bonilla, and Pedro Gregory.
One important highlight of the day: Abel climbed to 1,800 feet!
While Luis was out enjoying a few flights, Ivonne captured this video of one of his landings!
Thursday, September 03, 2026…
Once again, we headed to the Team Kamikazes Flight School in Isabela.
Luis Ruiz was joined by Mario Muñiz and his wife Ivonne, and pilots Abel Bonilla and Paul Whitmoere, were flying with the group.
We also had a special visitor all the way from Texas: pilot Joe Medrano.
Joe came to Puerto Rico specifically to train in foot-launch inflation techniques. He is an excellent Trike pilot and wanted to improve and perfect his foot-launch skills. So, over the next few days, that was going to be our mission together.
We took advantage of the day and gave Joe an Introductory Tandem Flight around the area. More stories in next days…
Friday, September 04, 2026…
This time, Luis Ruiz had the opportunity to head to Isabela with his son Noah Enrique.
And what a day it turned out to be!
We had a huge turnout, with pilots and students coming from different parts of the island. Back again were Mario Muñiz and his wife Ivonne, Felipe Flores, Abel Bonilla, Juan Flores and his wife Iris, Shirley Hernández, Nixon Porrata, Javier González, Javier Cordero, and Joe Medrano.
A full house! And the best part was that it was only Friday—the weekend hadn’t even started yet!
Luis spent the first part of the day helping some of our newer pilots with their flights, including Juan, Felipe, and Shirley, who wasn’t able to launch but got in some excellent training. Also, more experience pilots Nixon, Mario, Abel and Javier Gonzalez managed to Take Off in light winds conditions…
This was also the first time Luis flew all the way to Jobos Beach, and was accompanied by his young son Noah Enrique.
Noah even put together a video for his YouTube channel documenting the trip, and we’re sharing it below.
