Post Hurricane “Erin” stories, August 20 & 21, 2025 – Posa de Teodoro ISABELA is DRY… OMG!!!

After the close pass of Hurricane Erin along the northern coast of our island, we finally had acceptable flying conditions again. This time we had to wait, not only for the weekend, but until Wednesday for the conditions to calm down. In turn, the Hurricane continues its passage through the Atlantic as a category 3 to 5 hurricane… we were lucky. Thanks GOD !!!

Wednesday, August 20, 2025…

We were in Isabela, and with excellent flight conditions. So good that there is no wind in the morning hours. Luis Ruiz on this occasion had the commitment to carry out the Tandem Flights of Introduction to the sport of Anayra, who arrived from Rhode Island, USA, accompanied by her son Ángel.

The light wind made the takeoff very challenging…

As we mentioned, the wind was very light, so, in order to Take Off, we need to run hard. Fortunately, Anayra helped a lot in the race, and we go flying. The rest was pure enjoyment in the excellent conditions. Here we leave a short video that summarizes Anayra‘s adventures in the morning.

Ricky and Ermelinda in the house…

Around noon, Ricky and his wife Ermelinda arrived at the activity. The winds had already increased in intensity and Ricky took the opportunity to fly the entire coast all the way to Guajataca in Quebradillas. With this we concluded the activity of the day.

Thursday, August 21, 2025…

Luis Ruiz returned to Isabela in the morning. The plans for the day were test and maintain his international travel Paramotor, the Skymax Pulsar. It had not been flown for weeks and Luis wants to be sure that if he takes it to another country, everything is working perfectly.

As part of his flight, Luis encountered the effects caused, mainly by Hurricane Erin, on our coasts. A lot of sand covering the shore was notable. Fro example, look at the conditions at touristic place, Posa de Teodoro on these days. We probably won’t see it like that again for a long time!!!
