After several weeks of relentless winds, we were finally rewarded with an incredible weekend to fly, spend time with friends, and enjoy everything that makes paramotoring so special. We took full advantage of every moment, and these are the stories from an unforgettable weekend.
Saturday, June 27, 2026
With Pablo Cruz and his wife Millie, Luis Soto, Pedro Gregory, Abel Bonilla, Luis Ruiz, his wife Jessica, and their son Noah Enrique, we gathered at Villa Pesquera in Isabela. The morning brought beautiful flying conditions, while the afternoon gradually became windier.
Luis Soto and His New F5 Wing
Today was an exciting milestone for Luis Soto as he received his brand-new APCO F5 paraglider. After spending some time getting familiar with the wing through ground handling, it was finally time for its maiden flight.
Like any new wing, it took a little time to adapt to its handling and performance. But after several minutes in the air, Luis looked completely at home, confidently enjoying every minute of the flight. It was fantastic to watch him settle into his new wing.
A First Flight in the New Parajet Cadet 2
Meanwhile, Abel Bonilla was putting his new Parajet Cadet 2 paramotor to the test. On previous attempts, he hadn’t been able to get comfortably seated after takeoff, but today everything came together perfectly.
Once settled into the harness, Abel relaxed and enjoyed a smooth, rewarding flight. It was a great moment to witness after the challenges of earlier sessions.
Family Flying and Tandem Adventures
Noah Enrique spent the day doing what he loves most—flying whenever the opportunity arose.
At the same time, Luis Ruiz took Jessica Hernández on an introductory tandem paramotor flight. Jessica arrived with her husband, Javier, and experienced the incredible sensation of soaring above Puerto Rico‘s beautiful coastline for the very first time.

Once again, we returned to Isabela, where Mother Nature gave us another beautiful morning of flyable conditions before the afternoon winds picked up.

Javier Montesino Begins His Paramotor Training
The morning marked the official beginning of Javier Montesino’s paramotor training. Accompanied by his wife, Yenitza, Javier spent the first part of the day with instructor Luis Ruiz covering the theoretical foundations of the sport and discussing the training plan for the coming days.
After the classroom session, it was time to head to the field for one of the most important parts of every pilot’s journey—paraglider ground handling (kitting). Like every new student, Javier experienced a few challenges during his first attempts to control the wing. But once everything started to click, his progress was remarkable. By the end of the day, he was confidently inflating and controlling the wing with the composure of someone who had been practicing much longer.
It quickly became clear that Javier has a natural talent for the sport, and if he continues progressing at this pace, his first solo flight may come sooner than expected. Fellow student pilots Brenda Lopez, Pedro Gregory and Francisco Canabal IV joined Javier throughout the training, offering support and sharing another enjoyable day at the field. Later, Pablo Cruz, Wilkins Torres, and Luis Ruiz all took to the skies together. It was especially great to see Pablo flying again after a period with very little airtime.
Introductory Tandem Flights
Luis Ruiz also stayed busy introducing new people to the world of paramotoring, completing four tandem introductory flights throughout the day.
First was Gigi, who arrived with Evelin Ramírez.
Next came Estefanía and Zorymar, who had traveled from Lares. For Zorymar, this was her second tandem experience, and she was just as excited as the first time They were accompanied by Yanira Rios who previously fly with Luis.
The day concluded with a tandem flight for Yenitza, Javier’s wife, who couldn’t stop smiling after experiencing the freedom and beauty of flying over Isabela from a bird’s-eye view.
It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable weekend—filled with new beginnings, first flights, family, friendships, and the shared passion that continues to bring the Team Kamikazes Paramotor Puerto Rico community together.
