Thursday/Friday, January 19 – 20, 2023 – Ken Arciola flying his new Apco F1 + Geovanna Adventure.

Very windy days in Isabela, but even so, the conditions to fly were acceptable. We had the visit in Puerto Rico of the pilot member of the Team, Ken Arciola. Who, as part of his visit, received his new 20-meter Apco F1 sports paraglider.

Thursday…

We met at Villa Pesquera Isabela in the afternoon to fly. Presents were the pilots Ken Arciola, Ted Sowinski and Luis Ruiz. Winds were raging at 18 to 22 mph. In earlier years with less technology and knowledge, these intensity of the winds would not been flying. But this time, it was flown and with all possible safety.

In fact, these conditions caused Ken to fully test his new Apco F1 glider, he was very impressed by the way it worked with the wind. Luis and Ted were accompanying Ken on his flights.

Friday…

Without much planning, Luis Ruiz returned to Isabela at noon to fly. To his surprise, Mario Muñiz was there with his wife Ivonne spending the day. And not only that, but Mario was in training mode. He had put a mark on the spot and was making takeoffs and on his landings he was trying to land on the mark.

After Luis gets ready, he accompanied Mario in his precision tests skills. Winds were steady at about 18 mph.

In the meantime, Edgardo Rivera met with John Mushnick at Dorado. Again heavy winds were the norm. Here a short video of Edgardo working the wind while flying.

Back to Isabela…

In the afternoon, while Luis said good bye to Mario and Ivonne and was leaving the place, Geovanna Vicente appear, she is a friend of the Team and on other occasions had gone to enjoy her flight experience, and want to fly again.

At first, Luis thought about postpone the flight because of the relatively strong 18 mph+ wind. But Geovanna’s attitude, together with the fact that Mario would assist Luis in the takeoff and landing, made the flight happen. It turned out that the flight was great and unique.. Here we share a Video prepared by Geovanna.
