Saturday, March 29, 2025 – The unforgettable stories (and RESCUE) in ANASCO… We finished the Month of March in a EPIC Way!!!

We finish the month of March 2025 in an epic and unforgettable way. This time we went to the Anasco Valley, right at sunrise, with just a chance to fly for only an hour and a half at the most due to adverse weather for the entire island. We reached the playground of the pilot and friend Berto García.

The Pilots, their Take Off & Adventures…

It was necessary to fly early in the morning, Windy and erratic weather were the order for the entire island. Several pilots decided to arrive at Berto’s Playground in Anasco, is our best chance for the day. Even, for some of the pilots, it will be perfect for practice Front Launch Technique in their Take Off. In next months we plan to visit an international event in USA and probably we will need to Take Off by the Front Launch Technique.

Pilots getting ready and some of them already in the air…

Each and every one of the pilots took off and flew through Anasco. Notable were, Berto Garcia flying with Wilnelia in the Trike. Chino and Fio making their first Front Launch Take Off. Danis Rodriguez and Edgardo flying over the Atalaya Peak (with turbulence), and the rest of pilots showing theirs skills and abilities around the area.

Practice made Perfection. After this attempt, later Fio managed to Take Off with Front Launch Technique.

Fio López and his unforgettable adventure…

After some failed takeoff attempts, Fio finally managed, for the first time, to perform a Front Launch exit in low wind conditions. He joined the rest of the pilots who were already in the air. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

But… an unexpected incident happened… with 2 minutes into the flight and while he was flying low through an area of tall grass, he had a motor out… leaving Fio with no other option but to land in that area…

The Kamikazes Family to the Rescue…

Once we realized what had happened, Chino Morales and Edgardo Rivera landed and, together with Luis Ruiz, tried to gain access to where Fio was. But the tall grass, water channels and new fences placed all around the area did not allow to get closer for a quick rescue. We need more people and ideas…

Spotting Fio Lopez location and looking for ideas…
That idea didn’t looks good from the very beginning…
The help is coming and Fio appear between the bushes!!!

Once the pilots landed, everyone joined the rescue of Fio and his equipment. Edgardo and Jomar crossed the channel of water to help with equipment. In the meantime, Berto find a ladder to cross the channel, while Fio try to gets closer to the rescue area inch by inch through the tall grass…

The ladder gets in position!!!
OMG… Fio find the Water channel in a hard way, but help is coming…

Finally …

Edgardo and Berto helped with the Paramotor and cross the ladder with style!!!

After several minutes of help, we had a happy ending. Fio was fine, the Paramotor was fine, and Fio’s glider was untangled and dried.

Finally Fio was out of the area!!!

Even Fio was carried like a king to a dry area. Definitely, an epic way to close the month of March 2025…
