Today Mr. Luis “Apel”, a native of Aguada, began his official training. He was with Instructor Luis Ruiz at Isabela doing his first ground paragliding practices and also feeling the power of a Paramotor. Here are two short videos of his new adventure.
It was also pleasant to receive the student José Luis Hernández, from Camuy. He has not attended the practices for a while and today he joined us and was training. He shows that is ready for greater challenges. We just need that he shows more frequently…
In the afternoon, the winds goes down a bit and the local pilot Miguel Orona arrived to make some flights in the area.

Luis Ruiz arrived to Isabela on this occasion with his son Noah Enrique. Several pilots and students were present at the activity. Fio López, Scott Sansone, Luis “Apel”, and surprisingly Ricardo González and his wife Ermelinda. Each and every one of them was practicing with the paragliders. Especially Fio, Noah and Ricardo. The weather was quite good, with winds of 15 mph in the morning rising to 21 mph in the afternoon hours.
Scott’s Adventures…
In the morning Scott received his new 27-meter Sky Flexor paraglider. And before he used it, the instructor Luis Ruiz took it for a fly, also using Scott’s new Liberty Paramotor. He was checking that everything was in order.
Later in the day, Scott made (3) flights with his new equipment. Scott has many skills for the sport and is always looking to continue improving. In fact, on his second flight, the paramotor shut down in a narrow landing area. Scott don’t hesitate and landed safe while Luis pick him up. Later, with a carburetor adjustment, the situation was fixed. Scott take off for 3rd time, and this time flying together with Luis over the area of Posa de Teodoro and with already 18 mph winds. All his takeoff and landing were excellent. Awesome!!!
