Saturday, August 09, 2025 – “Literally” a MARATHON of flights, specially for Edgardo and Vitaly, who started in San German, and finished in Hatillo. OMG…

A very active day of flights and with the arrival of Edgardo Rivera, we always have good stories to tell. Let’s go for part…

Visit and flight in San Germán…

At 6 AM in the morning, the pilots Edgardo Rivera and Vitaly Kudrin (who recently moved to Puerto Rico, arriving from Alaska), met on the grounds of Papo’s Burger, next to PR2 in San German. Once there, they managed to take off in zero wind conditions, and went for a cross-country flying, heading to Joyudas, Cabo Rojo and part of Mayaguez. Then, they returned to San Germán in a journey of more than 20 miles+ in distance.

The Adventures in Isabela…

Edgardo and Vitaly arrived to Isabela at 9:30 AM. Once there, they met with Instructor Luis Ruiz, who was giving training to the student Shirley Hernández.

Also arriving at the activity were the pilots Ricky González and his wife Ermelinda, Sammy Badillo and Miguel Orona. All pilots were flying in the morning hours in the area, with winds ranging between 12 to 20 mph in the afternoon.

Cross flight from Isabela to Hatillo…

Edgardo and Vitaly not only made a round trip cross fly in the morning from San Germán to Cabo Rojo. Now they Take Off from Isabela to get flying to Hatillo. This time the pilot Sammy Badillo also joined them.

The (3) pilots had a smooth flight on the way to Hatillo, but when they arrived at the “Paratrevidos” place, they found that the pilots there were concerned about the wind speed and no were flying. Our friend David Laboy was there with his drones to take videos of the pilots flying for the advertising of the “Zumba la Maruk2” activity. So, Edgardo, Sammy and Vitaly kept flying, and the aerial drone films were recorded. We understand that some of the pilots there managed to fly early in the morning.

After a couple of hours, it was time to return to Isabela, and they need to hurry, because some huge cumulus clouds were beginning to take over the entire northern coast. Fortunately, the strong winds made the trip back to Isabela in less than 20 minutes

Tandem Introduction Flights…

At Isabela, Luis Ruiz made an introductory flight to the sport for the lady Maleny, who lives in Connecticut, USA. She was celebrating her birthday and arrived accompanied with her family. Here we leave a short video of Maleny‘s experiences.

Large cumulus clouds…

With the arrival of Sammy, Edgardo and Vitaly from Hatillo. And a high altitude flight from Ricky, we ended the day’s activity once they landed. Large storm clouds were approaching quickly from the interior of the island and it was time to pack up. What an amazing day for Edgardo and Vitaly, The flew literally more than 60 miles in the day. Round trip flights From San German to Cabo Rojo, and then from Isabela to Hatillo. Amazing!!!
