Weekend, October 18 – 19, 2025 – A Weekend of Waves and Wings at the Corona Pro-Surf 2025 in Isabela 🌊🪂

The Corona Pro-Surf returned once again this weekend to the legendary Middles Beach in Isabela, bringing together the island’s best surfers and an incredible beach crowd. This event has become a true Puerto Rican tradition — the biggest professional surfing competition on the island — and, as always, we were right next door at La Posa de Teodoro, sharing the stoke in our own way.

Between the roar of the waves and the buzz of the crowd, Team Kamikazes was out there doing what we love most — flying, teaching, and soaking up the energy of this amazing weekend.

Saturday, October 18, 2025 – Calm Winds, Great Vibes

We arrived early at La Posa de Teodoro, only to find there was almost no wind. That meant paragliding and training would be tricky — especially for Kent, who was hoping to get in some efficient practice time. Still, we managed to make the most of the conditions and carry out both our flying and teaching sessions.

Kamikaze Pilots & Family on site:

  • Luis Ruiz
  • Nixon Porrata
  • Kristiano & his wife Reba
  • Kent & his wife Amy
  • Francisco Canabal IV

Nixon, Luis and Jesús Rivera (who launched all the way from Hatillo!) captured some great visuals of the day. Kent focused on refining his forward launches, while Canabal IV stopped by to hang out and spend time with the crew.

Intro Tandem Flights

Luis Ruiz had planned four Tandem Introductory Flights to give newcomers a taste of the sport. Karla arrived with her husband and son after being referred by a friend — but with such light winds, takeoffs were tricky. Luis managed to complete two of the flights, while Karla’s and another participant’s flights were postponed for a future session.

Karla’s family having a great time. Thanks for the support !!!

As the day went on and the wind refused to pick up, we decided to wrap things up early and try again the next morning.

Sunday, October 19, 2025 – Wind in Our Favor!

What a difference a day makes! By early morning, steady winds of around 10 mph greeted us, later rising to a perfect 15–18 mph in the afternoon.

Luis Ruiz was joined by his son Noah Enrique, while Kent took full advantage of the conditions to practice and fine-tune his skills. In the coming days, we’ll begin working with him with the Paramotor on his back — getting ready for that unforgettable first solo flight.

Also joining us were Fio López, Nixon Porrata, and Kristiano with Reba, keeping the skies full and the energy high. Nixon, Kristiano, and Fio all went out flying, while Noah impressed everyone with his paraglider control — test-flying Fio’s brand-new ITV Piper2 (18m) with absolute style.

Noah Enrique, 10 years, simply AMAZING!!! God Bless!!!

Tandem Flights & Smiles All Around

Luis also had the chance to take Joharis for her first tandem flight. She came with her parents, Jojo and Maggie Cruz — Maggie had already flown with us before — and for Joharis, it was a calm, beautiful experience she’ll never forget.

Joharis unique and special Fly. God Bless!!!

Hola Luis,

Luis then took his son Noah, student Kent, and student Reba up for some hands-on flying. Each of them had the chance to take the controls and enjoy the incredible view from above.
