A New Star Takes Flight: 10-Year-Old Makes History in Puerto Rico!!!

It was a day destined for the record books—a day where passion, preparation, and perfect conditions came together to create something unforgettable.

Noah starting the Day, testing the air…

At just 10 years and 10 months old, young Noah Enrique, son of instructor Luis Ruiz, achieved what most only dream of: his first solo paragliding flight in the free-flight discipline. With that moment, Noah became the youngest pilot in Puerto Rico’s history to accomplish such a feat.

But this wasn’t luck—it was years in the making.

From the age of three, Noah has been immersed in the world of paragliding, playing with wings on the ground while other kids played with toys. By seven, he already had years of hands-on experience controlling a paraglider. Those who have watched him grow knew this day would come. His control, instinct, and confidence in the air have long surpassed expectations—even rivaling seasoned pilots.

One day without major plans…, Noah goes flying for FIRST TIME EVER!!!! God Bless!!!

Still, he’s a kid. And that balance between talent and careful guidance has been key.

The Perfect Day in Isabela

The milestone unfolded under ideal conditions in Isabela, where steady north winds—ranging between 15 and 20 mph—created the perfect playground for free flight along the dunes of Villa Pesquera.

This is Noah’s home turf.

For years, he’s trained on these very dunes, learning the rhythm of the wind alongside his father. On this day, everything aligned. Equipped with the right gear and under careful supervision, Noah lifted off, gained altitude, and soared the dunes for hours—literally flying all day.

It wasn’t just a flight. It was a statement.

A glimpse into the future of the sport.

More Than Just One Achievement

While Noah stole the spotlight, the day was filled with energy, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments. Pilots, friends, and families gathered to share in the thrill—turning the event into a true celebration of the paragliding community.

With the arrival of a cold front bringing strong northern winds, conditions were lively and, at times, challenging—but perfect for those ready to take them on.

Experienced pilots took to the skies, enjoying dynamic flights over the dunes.

There were moments of mastery—and moments of laughter, especially when a few tricky landings reminded everyone that even the best are always learning.

First Flights, New Dreams

The day also opened the skies to newcomers. Tandem introductory flights gave first-timers a chance to experience the magic of flight, many of them leaving with wide smiles and promises to return.

As the sun dipped toward the horizon, one final highlight capped the day: a daring late-afternoon launch from a hillside takeoff, proving once again that passion for flight knows no limits.

What’s Next for Noah?

With this historic solo flight now behind him, the journey is just beginning.

There are already discussions about a potential paramotor flight later in 2026, always under proper supervision and ideal conditions. As a father and instructor, Luis Ruiz understands the responsibility—but also recognizes the extraordinary path his son is on.

For now, Noah has earned his first pilot-level star with Team Kamikazes—a symbolic but meaningful step in what promises to be an incredible career.

A day of madness, joy, and pure flight.
And the day a young boy proved that age is no limit when passion takes the lead.

Congratulations, Noah. The sky is only the beginning. ✈️
