Friday, August 19, 2022 – An active Day with Students and Demo Flights…

This week, the schools and universities on the island started again. So, We took a break and returned to Isabela on Friday to resume Training for our students and at the same time to carry out some Demo Flights that we had pending during the week…

Presents were the pilots and students Mario Muñiz, Manny Martínez, Abner Ramos and Luis Ruiz. While the ladies, Loumarie, Lila and Jessica, arrived from Arecibo to Live their Experience in the Paramotor.

The Students…

While Luis coordinated the Demo flights, Abner concentrated on continuing to polish his paragliding techniques in his practices. Manny, join the Training more later in the morning.

Mario, in his progression as a pilot, was practicing his takeoffs and landings. (Touch & Go), in which is getting better and better 💪.

Living the Experience…

Luis Ruiz, was in charge to carried out the Demo flights. The first in line was Lila, and her fly was very smooth and enjoyable.

The second fly was for Jessica. The launch was smooth and everything was perfect until mid-flight… the Paramotor of Luis lost power unexpectedly. Luis managed to land very smooth BUT quite far from the group’s meeting area. The walk of Luis (with the Paramotor on his back) and Jessica on the loose sand, to reach the group was at least 800 meters!!! 😨 The paraglider was left behind on purpose with the idea of return with other Paramotor and launch from there. But Luis decided to finish the flight of Jessica with another Paraglider and Abner helped Luis to pick up the paraglider that had been left behind. Finally, Luis finished Jessica’s flight without major complications.

For the third flight, it was Loumarie‘s turn. Luis took off with her with his traditional glider, Flow Panorama 32. But again at halfway through the flight they need to land. This time, the wind increased a lot, and Luis decided to land safely. Later in the morning, Luis flew again with Loumarie with the paraglider (Dudek) that Abner had rescued some minutes ago. The rest of the fly was very smooth.

In the end everyone was very happy, and in the case of Luis, somewhat exhausted from the extra exercise he had to do… Then, in the afternoon the work was to get the equipment ready for the weekend.

Next stop, tomorrow Saturday in Hatillo
