And what are we talking about? Firstly, I must indicate that the following stories are being carried out to the limit of our Paramotor flight equipment. And this by very skilled pilots who perfectly know the sport and its risks. Which they took with calculated risks.
And the story of the day takes us back to Villa Pesquera Isabela. And this time we found winds much stronger than expected. Records show that it was fluctuating between 23 and 27 mph wind intensity all day.
Given this scenario, Luis Ruiz, accompanied by his son Noah Enrique, was training the student Scott, and in turn, his friend Rob, who had decided to start his training. Luis spent basically the entire morning working with both of them in practice.
The “Yin & Yang”…
Yin & Yang represent COMPLEMENTARY, not opposing, forces in Chinese philosophy. They are not in conflict and exist in dynamic balance, constantly interacting and transforming based on balance. Well, this is the case of the pilots and “Wing Partners” Edgardo Rivera and Darwin Hernández. When they met, there’s always a unique adventure from them…
They started their journey of flying a few years ago with Team Kamikazes school, and have maintained their constant progress in the sport until they have undoubtedly become two of the best Paramotor pilots on the island and surely internationally. Today they were gathered in Isabela, on a day that did not promise much. The winds were extremely strong, but there were “Yin & Yang”, the two pilots with the correct equipment and ready to fly and in a “balance?” way…
Standing on the Palm…
Apart from flying around, they were honing their skills, such as touching the tip of a palm and performing some part of their flight in “Hovering” mode, that is, playing with the brakes to stay still on the air at 0 mph.
A Visit to “Las Golondrinas” Cave…
With winds at over 23 mph+, Darwin and Edgardo, while flying gets close to “Las Golondrinas” Cave, which is located on the bottom of the Royal Isabela mountain, and whose entrance on foot is through the sector of “El Pastillo” at Isabela. This time, the sea water tide was very low and the cave could be visited. This happens for only two to three months a year, after that time, it cannot be visited because it is covered in water.
With the intensity of the prevailing winds, Luis Ruiz saw their ideas, and thought it was impossible to land in front of it because the winds and the mountains would not allow it. But both managed to land on the spot. AWESOME…
The X Factor…
But this story would not be complete without the X Factor…, and this is Pedro Agostini, who, knowing about the adventures of Edgardo and Darwin in Isabela, prepared his equipment at the Posa del Obispo in Arecibo and managed to Take Off and fly all along the coast in the direction of Isabela. Strong winds and gusts accompanied him all the way. Amazing achievements considering the weather…
We finished the afternoon of flights with a visit from pilot Wilkins “Chino” Morales, who even brought food to the pilots who had been flying there all day. Very appreciated…
