It was a very active day of flying, especially considering the excellent conditions we had. Early in the morning, several pilots gathered at Villa Pesquera in Isabela. Among those arriving were Luis Ruiz with his son, Noah Enrique, Miguel Orona, Sammy Badillo, and Ken Arciola, visiting from New York.
Everyone took advantage of the morning hours to fly. In Luis’s case, in addition to completing a flight along the entire coastline, he also took the opportunity to bring his son Noah Enrique along with him in the fly. Noah was responsible for the controls for a large portion of the flight.
Pico de Piedra Aguada…
Later in the afternoon, Luis Ruiz coordinated a flight in Aguada, taking advantage of the northerly winds entering the area. Fio Lopez, who also lives in Aguada, had never had the opportunity to fly in this area before, and today was finally the day.
Both pilots coordinated an initial flight route toward the town of Rincón, with plans to continue on to the Aguadilla Harbor on the return if weather conditions allowed. Unfortunately, this wasn’t possible, as the wind shifted and began coming in from the interior of the island. Even so, it was a great flight for both pilots.
