We closed out the month of March with training sessions for new students from the Team Kamikazes school, and kicked off April the same way. The first three days leading into the weekend were packed with action, including visits from international pilots and students traveling from abroad to learn how to fly paramotors. Thank you all for the trust and support.
Wednesday, April 01, 2026 – International Pilot Visit and Future Plans…
With excellent flying weather, we resumed our flight activities in Isabela. By the time instructor Luis Ruiz arrived at Villa Pesquera, student/pilot Javier Cordero was already on site practicing with his paraglider. We welcomed visiting pilot Clint Mortensen from Arizona, USA. Luis set him up with a paramotor and his sport paraglider, the Sky Zorro 22m. The two took off and flew along the stunning coastline of Isabela.
Clint was blown away by the beauty of the area, as well as the performance of both the paramotor (Parajet – Vittorazi Moster) and the Sky Zorro wing. He’s already promising to return in the near future.
Later that afternoon, Luis worked from home on the repair and maintenance of an EOS100 ultralight engine—one that could soon take his son, Noah Enrique, into the sky. Noah is getting closer every day to his first SOLO flight, and the plan is for him to use a paramotor, weighing around 35 pounds. More on this project soon.
Thursday, April 02, 2026 – Heavy Surf and Windy Conditions…
A shift in weather brought strong surf and high winds across the island. Some beaches were even closed to swimmers due to safety concerns. These conditions also meant our usual beach area was crowded with people looking for safer spots to enjoy the ocean.
Luis spent the day alongside his young son Noah Enrique, who practiced wing inflation drills with students Javier Cordero and Pedro Gregory.

Scott Sansone flew with Luis around the area, dealing with winds that at times exceeded 20+ mph.
Friday, April 03, 2026 – New Students and Weekend Camping…
Windy conditions and heavy surf continued. Luis focused the morning on training Juan Flores, who arrived with his wife Iris, while also starting lessons with Cesar Pungirum, who traveled from Massachusetts, USA, for an intensive two-week training program.
Training began at Villa Pesquera, where both students showed solid progress and skill despite winds over 20 mph. Luis took to the air on his ultra-sport Sky Z Blade 18m wing, cruising comfortably around the area.

By midday, operations moved to La Poza de Teodoro, where several pilots and their families gathered for a weekend of camping. Already on site were Edgardo Rivera, Wilkins “Chino” Morales, Mario Muñiz, and his wife Ivonne.
At one point, with sustained winds over 22 mph and gusts hitting 30 mph, Edgardo and Luis launched and flew the area, embracing the challenging conditions.
