And we keep the momentum going with perfect flying weather and fresh adventures from the Team Kamikazes family. A lot of pilots and friends were presents, as Harry Davila, Edgardo Rivera, Chino Morales, Pedro Gregory, Tyler James, Javier Cordero, Sammy Badillo, Shirley Hernandez, Cesar Pungirum, Jose “Viva” Méndez and Luis Ruiz, among others…
First Flights for New and Old Students of the School…
Yesterday, three students took to the skies for the very first time, including young Noah Enrique. Today, they were joined by fellow student Tyler James—a natural talent who made training look effortless. No doubt, bigger challenges are coming his way very soon.
Alongside Tyler, students Cesar Pungirum and Javier Cordero also flew today, each logging their fourth flights as they continue building their early careers as pilots.
Tandem Intro Flights to the Sport…
Luis Ruiz kicked off the morning with a tandem flight for 8-year-old Jacob, inspiring the next generation to spread their wings. Later in the afternoon, it was Jose de Jesús’ turn to experience the thrill. Here’s a glimpse into their unforgettable moments in the air.
The Return of José “Viva” Méndez…
“Viva” Méndez has a remarkable story in the world of paramotoring. One of the very first students trained by instructor Luis Ruiz, he’s been away from the sport for over 12 years due to personal circumstances. Still, he holds several national paramotor records in Puerto Rico—and today, he made his long-awaited return to the skies.
In the afternoon, with Luis’ guidance and alongside Edgardo Rivera, they took off toward the Kite Festival near Middles Beach in Isabela. They made it back just in time, beating incoming storm clouds that threatened the day’s perfect conditions.
We’re hoping to see many more flights from Viva in the near future. Welcome back—and congratulations!
