Although the wind conditions were strong, anyway, we decided to meet at Parque del Norte de Hatillo. There, we had pending that Pablo and Millie prepared us “alcapurrias” that they offered to us. Also, we have pending a surprise birthday of one of our veteran pilots. We refer to Carmelo Martínez, who traveled with his wife Miriam from Guayama to be part of the activity.
Pilots and relatives of Team Kamikazes present:
• Pablo Cruz and his wife Millie
• Eduardo Pabon and his wife Esther
• Carmelo Martínez and his wife Miriam
• Gregory Santiago and his daughter Keyra Lis
• Luis Ruiz, his wife Jessica and son Noah Enrique
• Chey Sánchez and his wife Arlene
• Omar Román
• Antonio Arias
• David Silva
• Robert Rodríguez
• Pin Pin Castillo
• Juan Carlos Correa
The weather, as expected, hard with windy conditions. Not much could be done during the day, just some kiting from Luis Ruiz, followed by a flight with his fast paraglider Apco NRG PRO. Pin Pin Castillo, tried to kite one paraglider assisted by David. Was very entertaining to see this practice. The wind according to the forecast was in the 18 to 20 mph with gusts of 25 mph.
But, beside that, we had a great time. Millie’s alcapurrias, the “pique” that Juan Carlos bring, was only for men … The stories and sharing was excellent by the pilots and friends. David always carrying his donuts to give to everyone. And Carmelo’s birthday was a success. Carmelo says that at 67 years old, it is the first time some people sing to him … WOW …, we finished at around 5 PM. Tomorrow we will go to Rancho Grande of Anasco to fly, stay tuned …
