Day 03 of London Ivey and Ernest Ely in their adventure of flights in Paramotor in Puerto Rico and the first day of Deron Freeman πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ…

Now with strong winds on the north and south coasts of the island. We decided to go very early to the Southwest coast. Specifically to the land of Freddy Rental in BoquerΓ³n, Cabo Rojo. If we wanted to fly there, we had to be ready to fly at about 6:15 AM. As planned London and Ernie arrived early together with Luis. and also, direct from the airport arrived Deron Freeman and his girlfriend Carla Paredes.

The wind was light from East. If you want to flight you need to earn the flight running hard in that conditions. After some coordination, the first to try and achieve the fly was Ernie. He went to fly around the town of BoquerΓ³n.

Then it was London’s turn. For this flight, Luis Ruiz had prepared a Trike with a Corsair Black Bull engine similar to what London uses in Florida. The idea is that London protect his back at the moment of takeoff. Although the ideaΒ  looked very good, it did not turn out as expected. A small difference in height of hanging points in the Trike that we prepared here versus the one that London uses in Florida, caused London to try to launch three times with the paraglider more braked than usual, making the glider to fall over the frame causing damage to the Paramotor Cage mounted on the Trike And London could not go out to flyπŸ€• …

It was the turn of Deron, who this time would use a SkyMax Moster and Apco Thrust lent by Luis. Later in the day, Deron will receive by mail his paramotor brought from Connecticut and we will mount it at Luis House.

The instructions were given, and the communication systems working. On the second attempt Deron managed to take off in light winds conditions and went to accompany Ernie in the air. Eventually, both had to land relatively quickly as the turbulence in the area came early in the morning.

We finished there, and Luis took London and Ernie for a walk around the beautiful tourist area of Cabo Rojo Lighthouse and “Playa Sucia” Beach. They are amazed with the view πŸ™‚.

Deron, in the meantime, was going to rest after his trip and then bring his dismount paramotor at Luis’s house to mount it. Eventually, after assembling the paramotor, Deron and Carla, together with Luis and family, attended a National Local Basketball game (look these up to know more about the event) that was held in Aguada and then going to rest. Tomorrow it was time to fly again.
