This weekend presented windy conditions for the entire island. We cancel any scheduled flight activity for Sunday and focus just on Saturday.

At 6:30 AM, Luis Ruiz and Ted Sowinski went to the Freddy Rental flight area in Boquerón, Cabo Rojo. There, as expected, we had a flight window at 7 AM which was used by both pilots to fly around and even fly to the town of Lajas. The flight did not last as long as on other occasions. Already at 8 AM the wind intensity gradually rose to about 10 mph and would continue to rise. After landing we took a break to meet later in Rancho Grande Anasco.

At about 11 AM we arrived at Anasco. Together with Ted and Luis were:

Randy Tirado and his friend Joe from Texas
Chey Sánchez and his wife Arlene
Jessica, with their son Noah Enrique and Grandmother Monin
Noel Vale
Luis Daniel Ayala and his wife Vanessa, (new Student traveling from San Lorenzo).

During the day, the wind entered from E to W, at an intensity of 10 mph with gusts of 15 to 18 mph. This was bad for flying. So, Luis started the theoretical course to Luis Daniel and after that they started playing with the paragliders. Luis Daniel practiced hard on his first day of practice.

At about 2:30 PM, the wind crossing unexpected from W to E finally.  A cloud formed over us and create a “burble” of great weather for flying for 2 hours. It gets ideal for flying. So, Randy, Chey and Luis goes flying around. Inclusive, Randy and Chey spotted some dolphins swimming close to shore in front of Villa Pesquera Anasco!!!

The bubble of good weather lasted until 4:30 PM. For an “impossible” day of flights, at least we had 2 hours of good weather to fly. At 5 PM we decided to end the activity waiting for better conditions in the coming days.
