Finally, the weekend arrived. The week had strong winds that did not allow any flight activities to be carried out on the island. This time we decided to do the activity in Villa Pesquera Isabela where the weather forecasts indicated that we would have a good window of flights at least until 2 PM (as it eventually was).

The pilots and the Kamikazes family who were present were:

Pablo Cruz and his wife Millie
Gabriel Martínez and his wife Arlene
Ariel Rodríguez and her grandson Derick Castro
David Silva
Omar Roman
Luis Ruiz
Sammy Badillo
Alberto Sabah
Pin Pin Castillo
Eric Román (New Student)

From early on, the students / pilots Ariel and Derick went to practice inflation with the paraglider. This time Luis was going to supply a paramotor and paraglider to Derick so that he could fly with Ariel for the first time together in the surroundings. It turned out that Ariel for some reason had problems with the inflation of the glider and decided not to go flying. So it was Derick’s turn to go flying alone.

Well actually not alone, by the time he got ready to fly he was already being accompanied by Omar Román and Pablo Cruz. A little later they were also accompanied by David and Gabriel.

David and Gabriel, not only accompanied the pilots, but also made flights of more than one hour. David flew all the way to “El Parador del Guajataca” in Quebradillas, while Gabriel dedicated himself to perfecting his flights, and taking height. He was a couple of times flying at over 1,000 ft close to Quebradillas.

Derick’s takeoffs and landings were excellent. His progress has been enormous💪. This time he was fortunate that he received a visit from his father, Joel Castro, who along with his wife Janiel (and Ariel), was recording all the action. Congratulations!!!.

While this was happening, Luis, at a time when the winds dropped somewhat in intensity, took Adrián, Derick’s brother, to fly. The flight did not last long due to the intensity of the winds, but Adrián was very happy with his experience 🙂!!!

As for the students’ practices, today Sammy was completing his basic training on the way to his first “solo” flight. Once he had a great command of paragliding, Pablo put it to fly by the “Towing” method. Sammy climbed to a height of about 15 ft. (Maybe tomorrow?)

As for Eric, he officially began his training. We started covering all the technical / theoretical part of the sport and then we started with the paragliding control practices. Eric was exhausted but happy from all the activity.

Pin Pin Castillo arrived in the afternoon. He brings his “new” Paramotor, FlyProducts Black Bull engine with him. We were helping there with the settings, and probably we will try to put Pin Pin on air in the next weeks.
Here we leave some photos and videos that best describe what we experienced today. As always we thank God for these opportunities that he allows us to live.
