Heavy rains continue to predominate over the entire island. Given such forecasts, we have had to look for where we can carry out the flights and in this case the intensive training of the new student Mike Lisowski.
Early in the morning on the way to La Guancha in Ponce…
This time we opted for La Guancha in Ponce to meet and practice. Early in the morning conditions looked good for the southern area, but as we approached Ponce, so did some heavy rain that would make an activity in Ponce impossible.
Edgardo Rivera was the first to arrive and by the time Luis Ruiz and Mike Lisowski arrived in Ponce, it was time to cancel the activity. Huge downpours were over the area.
A look at the rain and wind maps over Puerto Rico indicated that a flight and practice window had opened for the Villa Pesquera Isabela. Luis Ruiz informed Edgardo of his intention to go to Isabela, and Edgardo immediately signed up for the adventure.
Arriving at Isabela…
As the weather maps indicated, there was indeed an opportunity for flights and practice in Isabela, but there were large clouds in the surrounding area and this could change at any time.
Edgardo Rivera arrived and goes flying as soon as possible.
In the meantime, Luis Ruiz took the opportunity to continue Mike Lisowski’s training.
After an hour and a half and with the arrival of the pilot Darwin Hernández, the rain also arrived and with this we ended the activity. (Although Darwin would try to fly later without success, since his paraglider gets wet).
