Thursday and Friday, January 07-08, 2021

We received a visit these days from the international pilot Matthew Bell and his wife Charity, and we coordinated some flying activities with him. The weather these days had become windy for us so flights had to be limited.

Thursday

So, we meet early Thursday in Isabela. Wind intensity was at 18 mph + πŸ™„, so Matthew’s activities were limited to practicing with small gliders like the BGD Seed. This was assisted by David Garber and his wife Amara. And pilots present were, Luis Ruiz, Danis RodrΓguez (with his daughter Kyara), Alberto Sabah and Sammy Badillo.

David took Charity to fly on a Demo flight, while Luis and Danis also flew in those conditions. But there was not much more to tell, rather a cross flight was coordinated for tomorrow, Friday very early in the morning …

Friday

At around 7:00 AM the pilots, Danis RodrΓguez, Matthew Bell and David Garber were ready to take off in Isabela. The scheduled β€œcross” flight was to arrive at the Parque del Norte Hatillo flight area and return back to Isabela.

They all went flying and took them 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to Hatillo, however, it took just 15 minutes to fly back to Isabela. This due to the intensity of the winds that was increasing.

This was a very good experience for Matthew. We hope that he return to the island with a little more time to continue the adventures!
